= The debate of legends is here! How did Kennedy beat Nixon?  =

The National Election Broadcasting Debate Commission (NEBDC) hosted a Talk Concert at the Cine Library, a movie theater in Seoul on Monday December 12, under the theme, The debate of legends is here! How did Kennedy beat Nixon?

This event was organized to see eye to eye with citizens about the significance and importance of TV election debate in the run up to the 19th Presidential election. The forum schedule included showing the first TV debate between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon during the US Presidential election in 1960 and then held a talk concert and conversation with the audience.

The Talk Concert was moderated by film critic Oh Dong-jin and the panelists were director of ‘The Brotherhood of War’ Kang Jae-gyu, Alberto Mondi of a cable network, JTBC’s Abnormal Summit and Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy Professor Lee Jong-hee. The panel and the audience will have time to freely communicate on themes such as TV election debate, image election and policy election, and social conflict resolution through communication and discussion.

In addition, there was a pre-event violin concert by a NEC PR supporter, genius pop violinist You Ester. Also, entrance to the Talk Concert was free of charge and no prior application was needed.

The NEBDC asked for citizens’ interest in this event, which is aimed at communicating with citizens about the meaning of TV election debates and democratic debate culture.
