The Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI) held an Election Academy for Prospective Politicians at the KOCEI center in Suwon for three days from October 25 to October 27 targeting 40 hopefuls from each political party who wish to run for office in public elections.

This inaugural Election Academy for Prospective Politicians was held for candidates preparing to run for office to feel no difficulty in running for election for the first time in nationjieun201wide simultaneous local elections taking place in 2018. The program is composed for them to gain an understanding of processes before the election ranging from election campaigning, to political funds and election expenses, election strategy, PR marketing to voters and campaign speeches and debates.

In particular, this program received good feedback regarding its training methods from training participants because it allowed the prospective politicians to solve issues they had concerns in by putting vivid examples at the center of the education process and allowing for question and answer sessions.

KOCEI also announced that it plans to expand the Election Academy for Prospective Politicians next year for more people to benefit, reflecting improvements to the training process, in order to practically help prospective politicians running in public elections.
