NEC gave the presentation in the 10th European Conference of EMBs held in Kishinev, Moldova and visited Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan
The National Election Commission (NEC) of Korea attended the 10th European Conference of Election Management Bodies held in Kishinev, Moldova on the 26th and 27th of June. The European Conference of EMBs is an annual meeting to enhance the development of electoral system and democracy centering on EMBs in Europe. At the 10th conference this year, which was co-hosted by the Venice Commission and the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova, it has broadened the range of participants. As a result, the event welcomed 100 people from various international organizations, including EMBs from 25 countries, OSCE and International IDEA.
In the conference, the Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Kim Yong-Hi, gave a presentation on the launch of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) and received positive response from audience.
Moreover, the delegation of NEC visited Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan and had an official meeting with the Chairperson and Commissioners of it. They expressed full support for the establishment of A-WEB and its Inaugural Assembly held in October. Additionally they showed a great deal of interest on Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA) whose chair country is the Republic of Korea. Both countries agreed on improving international cooperation and sharing electoral experience.
