The National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea hosted a briefing on the 20th National Assembly elections’ political fund accounting on June 1 at the National Assembly in order to give guidelines on how to manage the legal income and expenditure of political funds and handle accounting and other issues related to political funds. 

The NEC was in charge of running the briefing and the question and answer session, which was attended by 300 participants, including National Assembly members and staff responsible for the accounting of their Political Fundraising Association (PFA) as well as other aides. The briefing mainly explained: 

• Political fund income and expenditure methods

• Major violations of political fund laws

• Political fund accounting programs and the activities of the political donations center

The NEC expects that this briefing will develop healthy democratic politics during the 20th National Assembly without fraud related to political funds through the transparent management of income and expenditure of political funds.
