Two teams consisting of electoral officials from Kyrgyzstan paid a series of visits to the National Election Commission as part of the 1^st and 2^nd election management capacity-building programs provided by the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) on March 12^th and April 7^th respectively.

Each session was started with welcome remarks delivered by the Vice Chairperson, Lee Jong-Woo. The electoral officials also watched a video clip introducing the National Election Commission and Korea’s election system, followed by a Q & A session.

Both teams actively participated in the training program, learning about A-WEB’s role and challenges, Korean election management systems and the ways to improve election systems.

The first team that visited the NEC on March 12^th consisted of 9 officials including Abdyzhapar Bekmatov, a parliament member of Kyrgyzstan. They participated in the training program from March 7^th to 14^th, and took part in observation session of the elections for the Heads of Cooperatives during their stay.

The latter team with 6 officials including Bapanova Dzharkyn, a Commissioner of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Kyrgyzstan, learned more about the application of ICT in elections.
