NEC’s ‘The Vote’ Wins Best Program of the Month Award

The Vote, a TV program supported by the National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea in its production and shown on EBS ahead of the 20th National Assembly elections, has won the Korea Communications Standards Commission’s award for Best Program of the Month. 

 

The Vote was a two-part special. The first episode The History of Voting looked to find the more distant history of the right of suffrage, and the second episode The Owner of the Ballot: For Whom the Voting Is? looked at the American primary election scene and the meaning and impact of voting as described by politicians from various countries.

 

The Vote received positive reviews that said it was ‘the nation’s first documentary that she light on the history and meaning of voting’ and was awarded the Best Program of the Month for delivering a message of how important voting is through a reflection of the politics of advanced nations  

 

This program is expected to be actively used by being produced as a DVD for election culture education for teenagers and will be distributed to middle and high schools nationwide.
