NEC Hosts the 20th National Assembly Election’s Management Planning Meeting

The National Election Commission (NEC) opened the 20th National Assembly Election’s Management Planning Meeting attended by NEC officials and officials from Si/Do Election Commissions nationwide on January 12, 2016. They discussed measures to prevent illegal activities and to ensure the fair management of the upcoming National Assembly elections. 

During the meeting the participants actively shared their opinions on the following important tasks for the 20th National Assembly elections: 

▣ Strengthening preventive measures and develop strict responses to election law violations. 

▣ Preventive measures and action against cyber election law violations that distort the voter’s intentions. 

▣ Making political funding more transparent and improving the accuracy of dealings in election expenses.

▣ Expanding citizen participation and openness to the public to enhance the accuracy and reliability of election management.

▣ Guaranteeing the voters’ right to know and ensuring the participation of voters who have difficulties in casting their vote
