The delegation of the National Election Commission (NEC) made a visit to the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) and General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia.

The NEC participated in the International Election Observation Programme, organized by the ECT, July 1~3, 2011. About thirty participants from ten countries and an organisation took part in the programme. They observed election campaign activities before election day, the election material distribution centre, voting and counting procedures, and visited provincial election commissions. On election day, participants also had a chance to watch live coverage of vote counting at the press centre and present their assessment of the Observation Programme. In addition, they were able to share their views and opinions regarding different election management practices.

The NEC delegation also visited the KPU on July 5 and met Chairman Prof. Dr. H.A. Hafiz Anshary AZ, MA and Commissioners. It offered a chance for the two institutions to learn the election management systems of each other and strengthen cooperative relationships.
