MOU with Election Commission Nepal

National Election Commission (NEC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Election Commission,
Nepal on August 26, 2009 for expanded exchange and cooperation between the two commissions at the
signing ceremony held at the central office of Election Commission, Nepal.

The MOU was signed by Deputy Secretary General Jong Woo LEE on behalf of the NEC of the Republic of Korea
and by Secretary Yagya Prasad Gautam on behalf of the Election Commission, Nepal. The terms of the MOU
included the exchange of information on election management and functions of the organization as well as joint
research and studies on electoral systems and civic education.

It is expected that this MOU would contribute not only to the development of democracy and electoral system
in the two countries, but also to the development of democratic politics in the Asia region.

NEC also donated 30 laptop computers to the Election Commission, Nepal for the development of civic education
and promotion of democracy in the country.
