The National Election Commission hosts the Student Paper Contest, open to undergraduate and graduate students. Students can choose any topic as long as it is related to the politics-related laws of Korea. The contest aims to increase public interest in the political and electoral systems and to facilitate academic research on the politics-related laws.

Students can submit their papers on September 14~22. The first place winner will receive a cash award of 2 million won. And second-, third-, and fourth place winners will receive a total cash award of 7 million won. The results will be announced on the NEC website in October, 2011.
