Mr. Lee Jong-Woo Appointed Commissioner of National Election Commission

The National Election Commission has elected Mr. Lee Jong-Woo  as the Standing Commissioner in succession to Mr. Kang Kyung-Keun  on December 14 at the entire Commission meeting. The NEC also had an inaugural ceremony.

 

Mr.  Lee Jong-Woo, the new Full-time Commissioner is an election management expert whose 30-year career as a public official has been in the area of election. He has taken office as Director General of Kyeonggi-do Election Commission and Chief Planning & Coordination Officer, Chief Legal Affairs Officer, Deputy Secretary-General and Secretary-General of the National Election Commission.

 

The National Election Commission is composed of 9 Commissioners. In accordance with Article 114 of the constitution, 3 Commissioners are appointed by the president, 3 elected by the National Assembly and 3 nominated by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
