The National Election Commission conducted a public demonstration of early voting with the attendance of citizens, National Assembly members and political parties personnel on February 24, 100 days before the 6th local elections.

The public demonstration of early voting started with welcome remarks by Mr. Moon Sang-Boo, the Secretary General of NEC, followed by the briefing on early voting to be held nationwide for the first time, opportunities to test experience early voting and the time for hearing suggestions for improvements.

Early voting is the system that has innovatively increased voters’ convenience and voters may cast their vote before Election Day without special registration at any early polling station set up in Eup/Myeon/Dong across the nation. Early voting for the upcoming local elections is available for 2 days on May 30 and 31.

Meanwhile, both new ballot scan counter and new voting booth without a pull-down curtain were introduced during the public demonstration.
