The National Election Commission convened a committee meeting on November 21, where Deputy Secretary General Kim Yong-Hi was appointed as a new Secretary General in succession to Former Secretary General Moon Sang-Boo, and held an inaugural ceremony.

Secretary General Kim Yong-Hi stressed in his inaugural speech that the NEC needs to humbly listen to people’s voices at all times and provide in a proactive manner the services demanded by the public.

Newly-elected Secretary General Kim Yong-Hi (state minister’s level) took such major offices within the NEC as Director of Guidance Division, Director General of Election Department, Head of Electronic Election Promotion Department, Director General of Political Parties Assistance Department, Chief Election Officer, etc. and has been appointed as Deputy Secretary General since December 21, 2012.
