The Korea Civic Education Institute for Democracy provided a one night-two day training program for the Saenuri party secretariat executives from September 5 to 6 in Hongcheon, Gangweon-do.

The training program has been arranged for the purpose of laying the groundwork for conducting the 18^th Presidential Election in a law-abiding manner on coming December 19 and seeking ways to advance party politics including the promotion of a policy-oriented party. The training was attended by 250 persons including Ms. Geun-Hye Park, a presidential candidate of the Saenuri Party along with the management and the National Assembly Members of the Saenuri Party.

The training program included a lecture on the direction of management of the 18^th Presidential Election and key points of political laws that the party executives should know, a special lecture delivered by a professional on the party executives’ responsibilities for the development of the party and a discussion.

Mr. Jong-Woo Lee, Secretary General of the NEC, said in his speech that the NEC would manage the 18^th Presidential Election in a strict and fair manner and requested the attendees to actively cooperate to conduct the 18^th Presidential Election within the legal boundaries.

According to the Korea Civic Education Institute for Democracy, they are scheduled to gradually provide a “Training Program for Party Secretariat Executives” for the rest of political parties by the end of October.
