Signed MOUs with India and Sri Lanka

On August 1, the National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea and the Election Commission of India (ECI) signed an MOU. On behalf of the NEC, the Chairperson (Mr. Nung-Hwan KIM) signed an MOU with Mr. V.S. Sampath (the Chief Election Commissioner of the ECI) and hoped that the signing of the MOU can serve as a great opportunity to contribute in developing the democracy of the both countries through cooperation such as exchanges of information and experiences in election management.

 


 

 

 
On August 3, the NEC signed an MOU with the Department of Elections of Sri Lanka in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Mr. Kim and Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya (the Commissioner of Elections) expected that the MOU can lead to expanding mutual understanding and cooperation in the future. Add to that, the NEC donated 30 laptop computers as election equipment to the Department of Sri Lanka after signing of the MOU.
 

 
The delegation also visited the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand on August 6. The Chairperson of the NEC (Mr. Kim) and Mr. Aprichart Sukhagganond (Chairperson of the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand) had an in-depth conversation on the future cooperation and exchanges of both sides.
