Signed an MOU with the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The National Election Commission (Chairman: Justice Nung Hwan KIM) of the Republic of Korea and the Central Election Commission (Chairman: Mr. Kuandyk Turgankulov) of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed an MOU at the NEC on 25th October, 2011. The MOU aims at building a cooperative relationship and promoting exchanges of information, technologies and experiences on the election management field between the both sides.

 

Justice KIM of the NEC and Mr. Kuandyk Turgankulov of the CEC agreed that they hope the signing of the MOU can serve as a great opportunity to contribute in developing the democracy of the both countries through cooperation such as exchanges of information and experiences in election management .

 

The activities that the two institutions would possibly carry out under the MOU include:

 

 The exchange of information and materials

 The exchange of visiting experts and employees

 Sharing of experience in election management

  Joint research and studies pertaining to the effective administration of elections

  The organization of meetings and seminars related to election management and other issues of mutual interest

 

Before the signing ceremony, two leaders made a discussion on AAEA General Assembly and a foundation forum for an Association of the World Election Bodies which will be held on 27th October at Seoul Plaza hotel.

 

Add to that, discussion on the MOU started in 2010, the year of Kazakhstan in Korea, and the MOU has been signed in 2011, the year of Korea in Kazakhstan. Therefore, it is truly meaningful in boosting friendship between the two countries.
