The 7th Korea-Germany Civic Education International Symposium |

The 7th symposium since 2005 was meaningful in that: comparing cases of Korea and Germany on measures of civic education for people who are indifferent to politics; and listening to experts’ opinions on political participation and social integration through civic education. The symposium had 5 sub-themes and made discussions along with subject presentations joined by experts on civic education at home and abroad including representatives of social groups and professors. The NEC said that it works on continuing civic education in order to address social problems such as political indifference and low voter turnout, as it strives to find various ways to promote constructive discussions.
