KOCEI Successfully Holds the 14th International Symposium on Civic Education for Democracy

The Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI) announced the 14th International Symposium on Civic Education for Democracy was successfully held on November 2 and was attended by 150 domestic and international stakeholders to promote international exchange and cooperation in the field of civic education for democracy. 

 

KOCEI has been holding this international symposium every year since 2005 to look at major international issues in the field of civic education for democracy and ways to develop global democracy. This year it was held together with the ''2018 Voter Political Festival''.

 

The 14th symposium was attended by domestic and international experts, including from Germany and Sweden under the theme of "Community Life and Citizenship" and in-depth discussions were held including suggesting directions for future civic education democracy in Korea .

 

The symposium consisted of two sessions, namely the representative system and public interest and political festivities and implications on democratic civic education 

 

KOCEI said that it will make efforts to contribute to the development of civic education and democratic politics by studying various examples and implications of the other advanced democratic countries discussed in this symposium.​
